My Dream Machine:
In Their Own Words
John Huerta

"My 67 VW Sedan was built for speed and handling, lowered to a 3.5 in clearance and corners like a Porsche. Like the split window bugs of the late 50's, this one year type bug is sought after from many VW enthusiasts as it was stretched for length from the 1966, and maintains its slim look before the Germans fatted it up in 1968. It was completely shaved other than door handles and shines with it's Electric Blue paint and Candy Purple accents and many coats of clear. It's a Half Moon Bay favorite and has been in the Dream Machine Show for the last eleven years." |

"My fully handbuilt custom Zyborg motorcycle has a blown-injected, 8 valve, V-twin hemi with matching Zyborg truck/transporter. The truck, known as ZTV (Zyborg transport vehicle), is a 94 Chevy 3/4 ton chopped, dropped, on air, with supercharged 454. Totally hand formed rolling, running sculpture. A stunning work of art."

"My dream machine, a home built 1966 custom Mustang convertible (Pegasus), is one of the coolest mustangs around. Turned into a two seat roadster with modern performance suspension and an insanely wild engine, and Lambo doors, this Mustang can fly. Pegasus features over 150 modifications and changes, and updates. In fact the only things not modified are the bumpers and the windshield (they're next)."

"My machine is a 1989 Camaro IROC-Z. I purchased this car in 2003 at the age of 20, and used it initially as my only means of transportation. One year later it was side-swiped in a parking lot, and required extensive repairs. After all the body work was done and a new coat of paint sprayed, I enjoyed the car for another 2 years or so before it was once again ruined, this time by a flatbed pickup truck on my way to work. At that point I decided I was going to take the car off the road, and spend the time to repair it and do some other modifications I had always wanted to do. What you see in the photos is the results of 5+ years of sweat, saving, and at times doubt that it would ever be completed. At this point the only thing on the car that has not been replaced or refurbished are the side window glass. EVERYTHING else has been replaced, freshened, or tweaked to make the car handle, ride, and perform better than the day it rolled off the showroom floor. From the gas tank, to the engine, to the windshield, countless hours and dollars were spent bringing my car back to its former glory. She is a participant of many California car shows, and a recipient of numerous awards including most recently, 2nd place in the modified Camaro category at the Muscle Cars in the Park show 2010. I would love to see my car featured on your website. Nothing would give me greater satisfaction than to share my creation with other enthusiasts, and to show them young and old, that just because you're only 28, doesn't mean that hard work, dedication, and a love for a car can't get you what you want."
