For a fun, new (albeit temporary) look, stop by for a visit with the nice folks at the SB Arts booth. They specialize in original works of temporary body art. Henna tattooing is an all-natural, pain-free and temporary form of body art. This 5000 year-old practice originated in Egypt where it was used to dye the entire body, nails and hair. As henna made its way to India, the paste was applied to the skin with a stick in intricate designs for sacred ceremonies. To this day, it is used to decorate the hands and feet of Indian, African and Middle Eastern brides because women in these regions are only allowed to show this much skin. Henna paste is made from ground henna leaves powder, tea, lemon juice, and eucalyptus oil. Designs are hand-drawn with the paste incased in a plastic tube or applicator. The henna dyes the skin with a maroon stain which lasts 1 to 2 weeks and fades away leaving no visible marks.
Bouncy The Clown is a goofy performer who also paints faces. Using a waterbased paint “that doesn’t stain”, Bouncy offers dozens of unique face painting designs. Rainbows, spiders, and butterflies are among the most popular.
