Connoisseurs’ Marketplace, 21st annual mid-summer festival of the arts with live jazz, r&b, and rock ‘n roll music headlined by the popular Joe Sharino Band, fine art and one-of-a-kind crafts by 250 of America’s best artists, seasonal cooking demos for the home chef, savory food, premium wines, microbrews and margaritas, “Gourmet Alley” specialty food tent, and the kids’ fun zone with Kepler’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows tent. Admission is free. Presented by the Menlo Park Chamber of Commerce.
Live Music ... headlined by the Joe Sharino Band, one of the Bay Area’s biggest draws known for their high-energy, sing-alongs and a sensational classic rock ‘n roll show... ten bands perform the wide-ranging sounds of jazz, rock & roll, r&b, and soul music.
Fine Art, Unique Crafts ... meet and buy direct from 250 of America’s finest artists and craftmakers exhibiting their latest handcrafted work in ceramics, glass, fine art, photography, sculpture, jewelry, leather, textiles, metal and wood.
Savory Food ... taste your way around the world with fresh roasted corn-on-the-cob, barbecued baby back ribs, handmade potato chips, juicy tri-tip sandwiches, hot-off-the-grill sausages and hot dogs, chicken and sausage jambalaya, seafood gumbo, blackened shrimp, crawfish etoufee, chow mein, chicken Caesar salad, Portobello mushroom sandwiches, fried calamari with tangy cilantro lime sauce, barbecued oysters, crab cakes, gyros, falafels, dolmas, and baklava; zesty chicken and pork kabobs, catfish, garlic fries.
Draeger’s Cooking Demos ... Draeger’s Resident Chef Instructors will conduct cooking demonstrations on subjects ranging from cupcakes to summer chips and dips from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at their Menlo Park store, located at 1010 University Drive. The demos will be 20-minutes in length starting at the top of each hour with free samples to nibble on at the conclusion. There is no charge to attend. Seating is limited.
Gourmet Alley ... sample and savor fancy edibles like olive oil, dessert sauces, spices, dips, salad dressings, balsamic vinegars, flavored almonds, tea, scone mixes, fruit butter, salsa, hot fudge sauces, fruit jams, honey, mustard, marinades, and barbecue sauce.
Kids’ Fun Zone ... create-your-own colorful wax hands art, virtual reality motion theater, temporary tattoos, whimsical sand sculptures, Boomer’s Magic Circus, balloon artists, clowns, face painting, inflatible bounce, the stomach-tickling Froghopper ride, Mobile Rock’s 24-foot climbing wall, and train rides. Kepler’s will have a tent at the festival well-stocked with merchandise from the newly released Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.
