Kids’ Playland at the
Millbrae Art & Wine Festival, August 30-31 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Broadway. Located at the festival’s north end, at Broadway and Meadow Glen, the amusements for youngsters of all ages will include everything from thrilling carnival rides and super cool temporary tattoos to exciting virtual reality motion theater and authentic choo-choo train rides.

There’s a Dr. Seuss-inspired Cat-In-The Hat bounce house, Tsunami Tidal Wave slide and the Jurassic Adventure T-Rex Dinosaur obstacle course where kids can run, jump and bounce with their play pals.
Linda Vogel is hands-down the best face painter around. She uses a water-based paint “that doesn’t stain”, offering dozens of unique face painting designs. You can tell by the line that forms in front that this is one popular booth. “The People Painters” always delight the crowd with temporary tattoos and airbrush face painting. Children love colorful hearts, flowers, lizards and rainbows. Dare to be different with a lower back tattoo or a temporary dragon!
It’s exciting and it’s new, carrying kids and grown-ups too. All kids get a free choo-choo whistle when they hop on board the trackless train with the “World’s Friendliest Conductor” Rudy Horak, of KC Kidz Events. “We take kids on a choo-choo train ride to wherever their imagination takes them,” amiable Rudy says with a smile.
Mobile Rock’s menacing 24-foot Climbing Wall will have trained climbing technicians on-hand to show you the ropes. The wall is color coded to assist climbers, from the youngest to the most advanced, make it to the to the top. Kids and adults alike will enjoy the challenge.
You and your friends will experience the adventure of a lifetime on Y3k Simulators computerized thrill ride. It combines wind, sound and outlandish motion, all synchronized to a breathtakingly large movie screen.

Boomer’s Magic Circus is the place for kids with energy to burn. Their amazing obstacle course has a long tube to crawl through, a cargo net to climb up and down, slides, and various noisemakers including bicycle horns, cowbells, and punching bags.
