Chamber of Commerce Mountain View:
Helping to Strengthen the Community
The Mountain View Art & Wine Festival is the Chamber's largest fundraiser, enabling the organization to provide the services, programs, and scholarships to the community.
The Chamber of Commerce Mountain View has been connecting the business community since 1922. Chamber CEO Oscar Garcia says, "This year we are proud to celebrate our 41st Anniversary of the festival. Starting as a small street faire, the Art & Wine Festival has grown to be one of the country's top art festivals, a contributor to the local economy and highlights the area's cultural diversity. We will also be partnering with local fire, police and military personal to pay tribute to the 10th Anniversary of 9/11."
The Chamber will honor the business leaders who organized the first festival back in 1971. Local Military branches, along with Mountain View Fire and Police Departments will hold a formal procession on Sunday, September 9th. This 'Walk of Remembrance' will honor and commemorate the victims and families effected by the 9/11 tragedy.
By creating a strong local economy, the Mountain View Chamber and its 550 business members support a vibrant and diverse community. As the Visitor Center for the city of Mountain View, the Chamber offers a variety of information on hotels, restaurants, events, schools, and other visitor-serving interests. People from all over the world who plan to visit or move to Mountain View contact the Chamber for their visitor or relocation information needs. Residents also utilize the Chamber as a resource for community-related activities and happenings.
The Chamber also works to partner businesses with local schools through various programs, including Yipee (Young Innovative Professional Entrepreneurs Etc) and SOAR — a mentorship/internship program. The Business ConneXions program offers small business owners contacts, leads, referrals and resources needed to grow their business. The Chamber’s Leadership Mountain View program develops well-rounded and thoughtful leaders to move the community forward. These are just a few of the many outstanding programs offered by the Chamber of Commerce Mountain View.
