Mountain View Art & Wine Festival
September 12-13, 2009 -- 10 AM to 6 PM
One of America's Top Art Festivals, a Feast for the Senses

What: 

38th Annual Mountain View Art & Wine Festival. One of America’s top art festivals, more than 200,000 arts lovers gather in Silicon Valley’s epicenter for this vibrant multicultural celebration featuring 650 artists and craftmakers showing extraordinary handcrafted wares, live Motown, rhythm and blues, swing, rock ‘n roll, jazz, soul, world-beat, Celtic folk, funk, disco, Latin jazz, rumba flamenco and party music, festive food and drink, premium wines, microbrews and margaritas, the "ONE" Organic and Natural food tasting extravaganza, an organic and green product showcase and action-packed Kids’ Park with belly dancing, hip-hop and bluegrass music, magicians, jugglers, amusements and hands-on art. Admission is free.

Exceptional Art, Fine Crafts … 650 of America’s most talented artists and craftmakers show original work in ceramics, fiber, glass, fine art, jewelry, leather, metal, paper, sculpture, and wood. Gorgeous vases, flatware, clocks, dishes, wall and table decorations, stained and beveled glass, etchings, sculptures, photography, oil and watercolor paintings, beadwork, gold and silver jewelry, vests, handbags, hats, wallets, footwear, windchimes, and waterfalls will be among the fine wares available.

Live Music … twelve dynamite bands playing on stage and street including The Cool Jerks, The Megatones, Livewire, MamaLuke, Jersey Foreman, The Cover Grrlz, Emerson & The Growiser Band, Kaweh, Dreamroad, Aryeh Frankfurter, HeartStrings Music and Ancient Winds.  

Kids’ Stage… original rap, hip-hop and bluegrass music, hip-hop and jazz dance, juggling, magic, comedy, belly dancing, Kung Fu and Taekwondo demo teams, virtuoso violinists, Hula and Tahitian dancing and drumming, and puppet shows on the Microsoft Community Stage.

Kids’ Park … hands-on art booths, Mobile Rock’s 24-foot climbing wall, temporary tattoos, the tummy-tickling Froghopper and Berry-Go-Round rides, Cat-In-The Hat bounce house, Tsunami Tidal Wave slide, create-your-own colorful wax hands art, whimsical sand sculptures, and thrilling virtual reality motion theater.

Festive Food & Drink … fresh corn-on-the-cob, baked potatoes with the trimmings, strawberry, mango-orange or pineapple-coconut smoothies, nachos, lamb/beef/ chicken kebabs, smoked bratwurst, spicy beef sausages, made-to-order crepes, garlic and Cajun-spiced chicken sandwiches, teriyaki pork/chicken/shrimp skewers, garlic fries, Chinese chicken salad, key lime calamari, clam chowder, kettle corn and more. Plus a special Honey Wheat Ale brewed for the festival by Tied House.
