Award-winning children’s musician Francie Dillon is a joyful entertainer that fills any performing venue with passion and gusto. Her contagious, uplifting music and storytelling captures the hearts and minds of youngsters and families, allowing all to leave their cares and concerns behind. The magnetic Dillon will host the Microsoft Community Stage at the Mountain View Art & Wine Festival, September 6-7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Castro Street.
Don’t miss the immensely talented members of Rock Force Crew as they demonstrate the explosive original Hip Hop dance form known as Breakdancing. Originated in the Bronx in the 1970's, this dance form consists of toprocks, footwork, freezes, and power moves. Rock Force Crew, established in 1983, has traveled worlwide performing always delivers a high energy entertaining performance.
Local musician and teacher Jack Tuttle will be presenting his bluegrass band of talented young students ranging from ages 7 to 12. You'll hear the wave of the future in bluegrass with some of the most gifted guitar, banjo, mandolin and fiddle players around. Jack Tuttle’s Bluegrass Kids, including some of his own children and several students, will be playing an assortment of traditional fiddle tunes and songs from Appalachia. Tuttle has gained a reputation for helping develop some of the best bluegrass players on the national scene today.
Ventriloquist/puppeteer Elaine Womack thrills children with imaginative cat and dog skits. “I believe in engaging children, so there is interaction as well as sing-alongs,” said Womack about her popular “Reggie and Critter Show.” Womack, a teacher, enjoys entertaining children all over the Bay Area with her traveling puppet show.
Silly Ricky is one funny dude. He’s a clown who loves to make your kids laugh. He’s ranked among the world’s best at a skill known as funny juggling. His unforgettable act feaures creating balloon sculptures, spinning a basketball on his finger, musical games, juggling, and clowning around.
Founded in 1995 as an international touring company by Emmy award winning puppeteer Tim Giugni, Il Teatro Calamari pursues theatrical excellence on the stage with productions that weave puppetry, mask and physical theater into whimsical and innovative theatre experiences for the entire family.
The mesmerizing team of Ric & Kara charm, dazzle and amaze audiences with their unique blend of magic, comedy and illusion. Ric & Kara’s highly-interactive show encourages audience participation, which really adds to the fun. Their unforgettable routines include the appearing/disappearing live rabbit, a delightful routine with a fun-loving raccoon puppet, levitating children, and teaching kids in the audience how to do a simple magic trick. Also entertaining audiences will be interactive magic shows and balloon twisting by Happily Ever Laughter, jazz and hip-hop dance by Show Biz Dance, and fascinating Tae Kwon Do Demonstrations by the unparalleled Master Kim and West Coast TKD.
For the viewing pleasure and comfort of festivalgoers, the Microsoft Community Stage offers plentiful seating and the cool, shaded oasis of the tree-lined parking lot next to Wells Fargo Bank at Church and Castro Streets.
