Pago Festival App on SmartphoneSay goodbye to waiting in line and fumbling with your purse or wallet while attending a popular event. The Mountain View Art & Wine Festival announced on August 25, through a partnership with mobile payment system Pago, it will be the first event in the nation to use Pago's FREE smartphone technology to enhance purchasing power, convenience and the overall experience for festival patrons.

"Our partnership with Pago gives the festival a new way to interact with our customers through the use of Smartphone technology," said Oscar Garcia, President and CEO of the Chamber of Commerce Mountain View which organizes the festival. The 41st Annual Mountain View Art & Wine Festival will be held September 8-9 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Castro Street.

By downloading and using the FREE Pago Mobile app on their smartphones—available beginning August 25—customers will be able to browse the wine, beer and food selections, pay for their alcoholic beverages, and view a map of the festival to locate restrooms, information booths and emergency services.

Attendees will be able to control the quality of their festival experience easily through their smartphone interfaces and the Pago Mobile app. "Mountain View is the epicenter of Silicon Valley and has a culture of forward-thinkers who are quick to adopt new technology," said Leo Rocco, Pago's Founder and CEO. "Pago is helping local residents celebrate the 41st anniversary of the Mountain View Art & Wine Festival, while also enabling festivalgoers the opportunity to take a progressive step toward the future of commerce."

Tickets for beer, wine, margaritas, mojitos, margaritas, sangria and commemorative glassware will be available for presale through the Pago app starting August 25th with special early bird and package deals. Customers will be able to purchase their drink tickets ahead of time or on-the-spot. Without having to wait in long ticket lines, attendees will have more time to enjoy the festival.

The Pago Mobile app is free and conveniently allows customers to browse, order, pay, and skip the line for a variety of local goods and services in the Mountain View area and beyond. Pago is now available at over 50 businesses in Mountain View through its partnership with the Chamber of Commerce.

Garcia states that "the City of Mountain View has evolved from a small stage-coach stop to being the epicenter of Silicon Valley innovation. This year we will proudly celebrate our 41st Annual Art & Wine Festival by capturing our colorful and diverse history, while embracing and highlighting our region's technology. We are excited to be partnering with Pago to offer a mobile payment option for festival attendees to make it a better customer experience."

Pago also includes in-depth social features that enable consumers to share recommendations and reviews through Facebook and Twitter and send gifts to friends. Merchants benefit from the community created around their businesses, and from a review system that only accepts and incorporates feedback from real customers who have made purchases.

The Mountain View Art & Wine Festival will be held September 8-9, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Castro Street. Admission is free. For information, call 650-968-8378.

PagoAbout Pago Mobile http://www.gopago.com

Pago uses mobile technology to provide a more efficient way for consumers and businesses to interact. Based in San Francisco and founded by Leo Rocco, Pago breaks down the walls of brick and mortar businesses, enabling consumers to browse, order, and pay on and off premise. Pago works with a merchant's existing point of sale system (or standalone) and has no startup costs. It enables businesses to get to know their customers, and use that knowledge to reward loyalty, offer targeted deals, and communicate easily. Pago, currently available for iOS, Android, and BlackBerry (coming soon to Windows Phone 7), is live at over 50 merchants in Mountain View, CA, and the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Pago will be expanding to more markets across the nation in the coming months. Go Pago to experience the new, personalized face of commerce.
