Every year, Mountain View’s Tied House Cafe & Brewery celebrates the Mountain View Art & Wine Festival with a delicious, commemorative brew. Crafted with the coming change of seasons, it’s always a big hit with beer lovers. This year’s festival takes place on September 11-12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Castro Street.
This year’s special festival brew is an India Pale Ale. This is a traditional British-style strong, hoppier pale ale that had to withstand the journey from England to India by ship without spoiling. That was achieved by increasing the alcohol and the hops, because hops are a natural preservative. Although this is a pale copper color, it is a very strong ale. The use of water high in mineral salts in conjunction with the hops creates a dry brew with an assertive hop bitterness. Tied House’s stellar Cascade Amber Ale, Stella Artois, Budweiser American Ale, Shock Top Belgian White and Bud Light Lime will also be served.
Wine aficionados will be tempted by luscious vintages from several outstanding winemakers including Snap Dragon, BV, Chalone and Acacia.
The Margarita King –– The World’s Best Margarita –– offers festivalgoers another refreshing beverage alternative. Margaritas will come in many variations: there’s the “King Cocktail” (straight margarita), the “Miami Vice” (margarita with a splash of pineapple juice), and the “Girlfriend” (margarita with a splash of pomegranate juice).
Sip your favorite beverage in a beautiful wine or beer glass adorned with the stylish festival logo. |
