January Hooker's 20th Commemorative Pumpkin Festival Print

January Hooker's 20th Commemorative Pumpkin Festival PrintHalf Moon Bay artist January Hooker is well known for her annual fine art print commemorating the world-famous Art & Pumpkin Festival. This year marks Hooker’s 20th year producing the print.

The scene of this year's print is Point Montara Lighthouse, making a pair with last year's print of Pigeon Point Lighthouse. The painting expresses many beautiful elements of the Coast –– the waves coming up to the bluffs, the old houses and cypress tree, and the hills of Montara. The late afternoon shadows capture the mood of the day.

In keeping with tradition, this year's print contains her hidden trademarks –– a row boat, ribbon, palette and paint brush, and twenty pumpkins in a pumpkin patch.

There will be a preview reception on Saturday, September 15 from noon to 5 p.m. and Sunday, September 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the courtyard of La Piazza at 604 Main Street in Half Moon Bay.

During the Art & Pumpkin Festival, October 18-19 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Main Street, Hooker will be selling her special 20th anniversary print along with those from previous years.

The price for this year’s print is $37. The signed and numbered collectors print is $55.

Her booth at the festival will be located at Miramontes and Main Streets, the first arts and crafts booth.

Hooker’s prints are also available at Arrowhead Framing in Half Moon Bay or at her studio by appointment.

For information, call January Hooker 650-726-1331.
